BACON!
This morning Papa Frog took Shortstack out to pick up a few things from the store and have a special breakfast out while I slept in for a bit (I told you where my priorities are…) and had a quiet few minutes to myself. Instead of going to Waffle House, Papa Frog suggested IHOP, scene of Shortstack’s ‘let’s see how much bacon I can shove in my mouth before I choke’ heart-attack inducing brunch show this past Father’s Day; an incident which proved to be a very memorable learning experience for Shortstack. Right before he and Papa Frog arrived, Shortstack randomly said something to the effect of, ‘This time, I’m not going to put a whole piece of bacon in my mouth and choke.’ The Funny Face pancake arrives, and before Papa Frog can blink an eye Shortstack’s got an entire piece of bacon in his mouth. When Papa Frog called him out on it, he replied
‘It’s okay, I didn’t choke at all. I only swallowed a little bit at a time, not all of it at once!’
Lesson learned! Once again, Shortstack wins the battle of semantics. Like father, like son! At least someone around here can win those battles with Papa Frog. I think Shortstack has mastered the element of surprise on his side; it’s been four years, and we still can’t see it coming!

That is too funny! Kids’ minds are hilarious; it always cracks me up how they rationalize things!
